Ocean Hero Bootcamp is an annual event of the broader Ocean Heroes Network, the mission of which is to empower existing and emerging youth leaders to create their own campaigns to take action against ocean plastic pollution. The campaigns created by Ocean Heroes support the achievement of UN SDG 14.1 by 2025.
DEAR OCEAN HEROES,
I came to camp when I was ten years old, already an advocate for the world’s waterways and ocean. To be surrounded by my peers and together learn the knowledge, skills, and resources to become effective advocates is positively one of the most important and most fun moments of my life. I returned to my community empowered and centered. I am a champion of the ocean!
Thank you for creating a space for kids like me that want to use our voice as a force for good. The ocean brings life and joy to so many, and yet, so many use it as a sewer. Being an Ocean Hero, I am grateful to articulate and educate my generation so we can create meaningful change to heal and help our ocean.
